Communion Bread Recipe

Dry Ingredients:

Liquid Ingredients:

1 ½ cups white flour

½ cup whole wheat flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

¼ cup sugar

2 tablespoons honey

3 tablespoons oil

Approximately ¾ cup water

Mix thoroughly all dry ingredients. Add liquid ingredients, using enough water so mixture forms a ball.

The mixture will be sticky.  Divide into 4 parts, with 1 smaller than the others, working in some flour so you can handle them.

Place each on a cookie sheet and press into a circle ¼ inch thick.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes, until lightly browned.  Let cool.

Cut the 3 larger rounds into pieces that are approximately ½ inch wide by 1 inch long.

Leave the smaller round uncut for Pastor to hold during the consecration of the elements.

NOTE:  2 batches will make enough for communion for 1 Sunday.
