THE YEAR OF LUKE:  We again begin from the beginning, Genesis, and read how the gospel of God has been proclaimed in the world throughout history.  This year’s Gospel is Luke.  A main focus of Luke's Gospel is the nature of the salvation that Jesus Christ provides.  Because Jesus encounters a wide variety of people in Luke, this Gospel offers a glimpse into the different facets of salvation--its spiritual, physical, and social dimensions.  Because Jesus speaks many parables in Luke, this Gospel also becomes a source for deep reflection about the nature of God's reign and the ways of living faithfully in this world.  May we again be surprised and changed by God’s Word for the world.

TWO SUMMER WORSHIP SERVICES!  Starting May 28th, Memorial Day weekend, thru Labor Day weekend, you are welcome to join us for our summer worship services & Holy Communion:  8 and 9:30 a.m. Worship (no education hour during the summer).  Please note that the church office will be closed on Monday, May 29th, in observance of Memorial Day

2017 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL -- God’s Promise, our Faith -- June 19th – 23rd:   9 a.m. until 12 Noon -- 3 year olds through 5th grade; older students are invited to assist with VBS; Cost: $12 per child.  Join together with our faith community as we explore the promises God makes to us and how living our faith responds to God’s goodness.  Registration forms can be found at our website at:  www.mountolive-elca.net.  Friends and neighbors invited!  VBS Youth Leader training meeting:  June 4th following the 9:30 worship service.  Come along and see!  VBS needs:

  • Free Play Corner: Do you enjoy connecting with children as they explore play activities such as play doh, Legos, dress up and tower building?

AN OLD FRIEND RETURNS:  The Mount Olive Hunger Jar...and you are invited to fight hunger with your pocket change!  Each week, place your pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and even folding money into the jar located near the altar.  The funds will be donated to ELCA World Hunger, which provides support for those who are hungry both in the US and abroad, and works for sustainable solutions that get at the root causes of hunger and poverty.  Thank you for your support!

90th BIRTHDAY:  Omer “Joe” Sperstad is turning 90, and he is extending a heartfelt and cordial invitation to everyone in his Mount Olive family to celebrate this milestone with him on Saturday, June 10th, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Mukwonago (627 Veteran’s Way).  His request is that the only present he receive is the blessing of your presence at his party.  Hope to see you there.  

OUR HEALTH & WELLNESS TEAM has a monthly service project of encouraging donations to the Kitchen Kupboard.  We ask you to bring your donation on ANY June Sunday – Picnic Items (pork & beans, catsup, mustard, relish, pickles) & deposit them in the entryway.  THANK YOU!!!
